Seam Welding of Grow Bags instead of stitching can increase the life of the grow bags
Rooftop gardening culture is part of our day to day activities. Since ages, it is a common sight to grow a plant inside, around, in living room, bathroom or bedrooms or even in matchbox houses. Usually they are placed on a traditional terracotta, ceramic pots, jar or a decorative pot. But now, Grow Bags are in trend. This culture of growing plants inside a bag is increasing day by day to avoid water leakage on the floor, roof, or the balcony. It needs less maintenance compared to traditional pots. Grow bags are made of HDPE (High-density polyethylene) membrane and can be made to any size.
Grow bags were made completely by stitching earlier that caused small pin holes on the material during the process. These hemstitches which used to be carried out on top of the bag cause damage while carried or moved around with soil, resulting in low shelf-life.
With the help of Leister HEMTEK-ST automatic welder, a better solution was given to restrict the damage caused due to stitching.

HEMTEK ST creates these hem by just folding in a size required and passed through the machine. Hot air is passed in the direction of the hem and required pressure is applied to create a perfect hem weld. This way there is zero damage to the material, as the air, temperature, and pressure are constant.
