The GROOVER 500-LP cordless grooving machine from Leister uses a general-purpose milling cutter to mill grooves for weld seams and joints when laying resilient floor coverings of plastic (PVC, PE, PUR) and natural materials (linoleum, rubber). The cordless drive eliminates the need to reply on electric power outlets and extension cables. The risk of tripping over cables that are lying around is also minimized. It also makes switching from one room to another hassle-free and significantly quicker. The groover is supplied with two batteries. Since the charging time for a battery is shorter than the subsequent operating time, there is no downtime waiting for a battery to charge.
The GROOVER 500-LP cordless grooving machine is battery-powered and therefore requires no cables, yet is just as flexible in use as a conventional joint plane or joint gouge. Thanks to its compact design, the GROOVER 500-LP is ideally suited for use on both small and large areas of floor covering on a variety of floor surfaces such as gymnasiums, schools, kindergartens and other public facilities. The sensor roller is designed to maintain a constant groove depth, selectable from 0 to 0.24 in., on both even and uneven floors. All the screws for replacing the cutter blades and adjusting the machine are uniform, so that when necessary they can be released using the integrated socket wrench. Because of its three-point support – consisting of guide, tracking and running roller - the grooving machine is particularly stable. The practical side stop permits grooving along a rail. The rotating dust tube allows the machine to cut grooves along walls or other objects as close as 0.98 in. This is particularly advantageous when processing hollow cone profiles and molding base boards, such as in hospitals, clean rooms and industrial kitchens. Anywhere that strict hygiene regulations apply. The LED light at the front of the machine illuminates the area being grooved, including the butt joints and floor joints; this is particularly helpful when working on a dark-colored floor covering. Thanks to its general-purpose cutter blade, the GROOVER 500-LP is equally at home grooving resilient floor coverings made of plastic and natural materials (PVC, PE, PUR and linoleum, rubber). A button locks the cutter blade while it is being changed, thereby preventing injuries and increasing safety at work. The new design also offers an improved and simplified procedure for changing the cutter blade. Since the GROOVER 500-LP has a brushless motor, there is no need to change the tedious carbon brushes, making the machine very low-maintenance. The delivery also includes an adapter to connect a vacuum cleaner (as an alternative to the dustbag supplied) for extracting dust and chips. This means the GROOVER 500-LP floor groover is particularly well suited for grooving floors in clean rooms and hospitals, because there are no contaminates generated from dust particles or chips and thus satisfies even the most strict hygiene requirements.
